Juilliard Jazz Ensemble (left to right): Jordan Pettay, saxophone; Christopher Ziemba, piano; Luke Sellick, bass and Samuel Miller, drums.

Once again the accomplished young artists of our July concert come to us through the auspices of The Juilliard School, where they are alumni or current students. This fourth annual Jazz event is led by Jordan Pettay, saxophone, who also fronted the Ensemble last year. She will be joined by Christopher Ziemba, piano; Luke Sellick, base and Samuel Miller, drums.

For this fourth performance of our 28th Season we will be treated to the artists’ fresh take on some classic Jazz tunes with a fun seasonal theme, and we hope we will also get to enjoy some of their own compositions like we heard last year.

Thank you to all of our donors and especially to the Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation for your generous support which makes this concert possible.

A Special Note: Those who attended our first two Jazz concerts will be happy to know that bassist Clovis Nicolas recently released his first CD as lead, Nine Stories to rave reviews. Featuring five original compositions and with eight of the nine songs arranged by Mr. Nicolas, the liner notes are written by Sir Ron Carter, chair of the Jazz division at Juilliard and one of the truly great Jazz artists of our time.
