These artists were introduced to us, once again, by our friend and mentor cellist Wolfram Koessel through his colleague at the Manhattan School of Music, pianist, vocalist and conductor Thomas Muraco. Mr. Muraco recently had multiple back surgeries so the information about this concert is understandably a bit late in appearing here, but with a true dedication to his art “The show will go on” with Tom Muraco at the Steinway.

Kasia Borowiec, soprano and Nickoli Strommer, baritone have earned their Masters Degrees from the School, while tenor Brian Michael Moore is a Senior this year. Each of these young vocalists has extensive experience in performances around the country and in some cases internationally, with commendations in the press and through competitions and recordings.

Thomas Muraco has been lauded by the press both for his skill as an accompanist and for his leadership and interpretive skill as a conductor. The lengthy list of his collaborations reads as a “Who's Who” of the opera and classical music worlds. In addition to his busy performing and recording schedules he teaches both at the Manhattan School of Music and in master classes for pianists and singers elsewhere, with a focus on the “unique relationship of poetry and music in all aspects of the vocal repertoire, bringing to bear his extensive knowledge of languages...” including French, Italian, German and Portuguese. He also serves as a judge in competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and each October as jury chairman of the annual international vocal competition “De Vive Voix” in Vivonne, France.

Thank you to all of our donors and especially to the Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation for your generous support which makes this concert and our entire series of events possible.
