Friends of Music is not sponsoring a performance by the Zēlos Quartet since they were not in our area during our regular season, but we encourage you to attend one of their concerts listed at right. The group's tenor saxophonist Robin Lacey (nee Ward) performed at the Holiday Concert at the Cyr Center in 2011 when she was a high school Senior at the South Kortright Central School. She went to college in California and we are so proud of her choice to become a professional musician, and are happy the group is touring the east coast from their home base of San Jose.

“The Zēlos Quartet is dedicated to performing a wide array of repertoire ranging from underrepresented contemporary works to transcriptions from the baroque, classical and romantic eras. Committed to performing on saxophones that fit the acoustical specifications of its inventor Adolphe Sax, the Zēlos Quartet looks to connect with a variety of audiences to show the wide range of sounds and colors of the saxophone.”
