DESCRIPTION:FoM 2026 / 40th ANNIVERSARY \nSunday\, August 16 at 3pmFirst Presbyterian Church\, 96 Main Street\, Stamford\, NY \n\n\n\nSuggested donation: $15 adults\, $10 students and seniors\, free for ages 13 and under \nNo reservations required. \n\n\nGeorgian opera singer Gocha Abuladze was born in Kutaisi\, Georgia. From childhood\, he was distinguished by his passion for music and singing\, thanks to his mother\, who was his first music teacher. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and continued his studies in Italy with world-renowned masters. At different times\, he studied vocal technique with Montserrat Caballé\, William Matteuzzi\, Lella Cuberli\, Vazha Chachava\, and Nodar Andguladze. \nAbuladze is the winner of more than ten international competitions. One of the most prestigious was the “Magda Olivero” Competition in Milan. He also received the special “Ettore Bastianini” Prize for Best Baritone. His successful European career has included performances at Arena di Verona\, Teatro Regio di Parma\, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto\, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari\, Grange Park Opera in London\, Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier\, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona\, and many other opera houses. Across these stages he has performed 27 leading roles and has been widely featured in both European and American press. \nIn 2014\, Gocha Abuladze was named Best Singer of the Season in Germany. His collaboration with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra resulted in the recording of Giuseppe Verdi’s Un giorno di regno\, which was broadcast live by Germany’s national radio and continues to be available throughout Europe. In 2019\, Abuladze made his successful American debut at Carnegie Hall in New York. In recent years\, Gocha Abuladze has continued his active concert career in the United States.  \nAna Glig (Gligvashvili) is an award-winning Georgian-American pianist and teacher who has performed in solo\, chamber\, and orchestral settings in the United States and Europe. Glig is recognized for her “virtuosic command” and ability to “capture hearts.” \nAs an orchestra soloist\, Glig has performed with Cape Symphony and Cape Cod Chamber Orchestras\, as well as orchestras from Georgia (her motherland) and Israel (Rishon LeZion\, Sde Boker). \nGlig received her Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music -The New School (NYC)\, and an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from New York University (NYU Steinhardt). She completed her Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Republic of Georgia).
