Join us on Sunday, December 1 at 3PM for the ninth and final concert of our 27th Season, when we present The Midstatesmen Chorus of the Oneonta Chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society. Having featured their female counterparts in our previous two Holiday events, it seemed only fair to give the men a chance to amaze as they sing to us in beautiful a capella four-part harmony.
Members of the Chorus are musically inclined men from all walks of life who meet weekly to prepare a repertoire of traditional music, show tunes and seasonal music and even some upbeat Beatles and Doo-Wop numbers to present to varied audiences.
Recent venues around the area include a church in Richfield Springs, SUNY Delhi Alumni Weekend, Columbus Day celebration in Columbus, New York and several nursing homes and retirement communities.
The Chorus annually performs concerts of carols and seasonal songs at area nursing homes in the weeks before Christmas, and Friends of Music is delighted that they will close out our season for us at the Cyr Center.
There is no charge for admission to this performance though donations are gratefully accepted. As is our tradition for the Holiday Concert, those in the audience who wish to may sing along with some of the carols at the end of the performance. The program for December 1 is listed below, and may be subject to change.
